Looking Through(the)Glass

Time: 2< Hour
Yield:  1 – #8 Tag
Wet Ingredients:
  • Other – Bondic, Perfect Medium
Dry Ingredients:
  • Hardware – Facets
  • Other – Nylon (invisible) Thread, Perfect Pearl, Remnant Rubs Merriment
  • Surfaces – Clearly for Art, Grafix Craft Plastic, Mirrored Sheets, Shrink Plastic
Tools/Equipment:
  • Die – Butterfly Duo, Frameworks Trellis, Garden Greens, Tag & Bookplate
When I read the theme for this month’s A Vintage Journey challenge Through the Looking Glass, I could picture this see-through tag, clear and mirror and textured surfaces.  I like to challenge myself, and I love word play, so Though the Looking Glass became, Looking Through (the) Glass.

It was challenging (insert understatement here…) taking pictures when the camera thinks you’re trying to focus on what is behind the plastics and not the plastic surfaces themselves.

  5. What a brilliant idea to make a clear tag with clear adornments - and you have made each item show up by melting, stitching, or embellishing it. What lovely dimension you achieved with the foliage and beautiful butterfly - thanks so much for sharing your creativity with the AVJ Through the Looking Glass challenge! hugs, Julia xx

  12. This is incredible! What is the orange tool you are using to do the melting, and did you use a heat gun on the leaves?
